Bike Hire NZ Rental Terms & Conditions
Loss and Damage Policy
Our damage policy is included in the rental price and covers the following for hardtail bikes and e-bikes:

Basic maintenance and tune-ups.

Puncture repairs and minor adjustments.

Normal wear and tear.
In cases of extensive damage due to misuse, you will be charged for a full repair or service. If equipment is damaged beyond repair or lost/stolen, you will be responsible for the replacement cost of the item as disclosed by Bike Hire NZ.
Examples of non-repairable damage include:

Significant frame damage due to misuse (e.g., riding in rough terrain).

Broken components.

Damaged wheels.
If the non-repairable damage is deemed a product fault and can be claimed under warranty, you will not incur any charges. Normal wear and tear will not result in additional fees.
Refund, Amendment, and Cancellation Policy
Refunds are available for cancellations made directly to Bike Hire NZ up to 48 hours before your booking, subject to a $25.00 administration fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your hire will incur a $50.00 administration fee.
Bookings made through third-party providers are not eligible for early return refunds; please contact them directly for their policies.
All cancellations or amendments must be made at least 48 hours prior to the pickup date. Internet bookings should be made no later than 48 hours before the pickup date to ensure availability.
Discount codes are limited to one per booking at the time of reservation.
Personal Liability and Injury
All customers must agree to the following personal liability and injury policy when hiring equipment from Bike Hire NZ:
The Hirer (customer) acknowledges that the information provided is true and correct. The Hirer understands that the equipment is adjusted based on this information and must be present in-store for proper fitting.
The Hirer acknowledges that bike equipment may not release under all conditions, and Bike Hire NZ cannot guarantee the safety of the Hirer or any third party. Cycling carries inherent risks, and while safety measures can reduce these risks, they cannot eliminate them entirely.
The Hirer agrees to indemnify Bike Hire NZ, its employees, affiliates, and agents from all claims for personal injury or damage arising from the use of the hired equipment.
The Hirer is responsible for any outstanding payments not settled before returning the equipment, which may be charged to their credit card at Bike Hire NZ's discretion.
Children Classification
Children’s prices are determined by age.

Ages 7 to 17 are classified as "Youth."

Ages 6 and under are classified as "Kids."
If a child is categorized incorrectly, Bike Hire NZ reserves the right to charge for the correct classification.
Arrival and Rental Pick-Up
You can pick up your rental equipment the afternoon/evening before your rental starts, any time after 3 PM. Drop-off must occur before 10:00 AM the following day. Late returns will incur an additional daily fee.
Retail Terms & Conditions
Faulty Goods Refund Policy
You are entitled to a full refund or store credit for items purchased from Bike Hire NZ if:

The product is faulty or unsafe and the defect was not disclosed before purchase.

You return the item within 14 days of purchase with proof of purchase (receipt).

The item has not been used, and tags/packaging are intact.
Warranties or repairs on purchased goods may take up to 30 days, as we will liaise with the manufacturer. Store credit or exchanges are available for equivalent value. Sale items are included in this policy.
Change of Mind Policy
If you change your mind, we offer a refund or exchange for most items, provided:

The item is returned within 7 days of purchase.

The item is unworn, unused, and in its original condition with all tags and packaging.

You provide proof of purchase.
